Canada Literature Festival
Authors, poets and readers exploring the literatures of Canada, India and the diaspora.
About
Canada Literature Festival is the council's literary platform: a gathering where writers from India, Canada and the wider diaspora share a stage with the readers who keep their work alive.
The festival runs in chapters rather than annual editions, each built around a distinct theme and a distinct set of voices. It is now in its third chapter.
CLF is also the parent of CLIFF, our film festival, which grew out of the observation that many of the most enduring Indian films began life as novels, memoirs and oral traditions. The two programmes are designed to be read together.
A festival organised in chapters.

Literature across borders
Writing from Canada, India and the diaspora, programmed as one conversation rather than three separate ones.
Living authors on stage
Writers present in person, in conversation with readers and with the film‑makers who have adapted them.
Paired with CLIFF
Literary sessions run alongside film screenings so an adaptation and its source can be experienced together.
